Two Substacks in one day? Sure….why not! Its cold and nasty outside. Winter is starting to get to me even though we have had a very mild winter until the first week of January so I can’t complain too much. Ok, Ill complain, but it really does no good.
Anyway, on to this substack message. Sundays are a wonderful and fulfilling day for me. A family tradition that we started about 12 years ago when our oldest daughter went off to college, even though she went to a local college, we started having Sunday meals because we just felt like we were not seeing her often enough plus I wanted to make sure she was getting at least one good meal a week.
Then soon enough, our son who is 18 months younger moved out once he graduated from high school - he chose not to go to college but he did move out and started working which is just fine with us. Then eventually, our youngest daughter went to college, again locally but life gets busy for everyone and it seems like young people who are single, tend not to take the time to eat good, healthy home made food PLUS I wanted to see my kids once in a while.
So we started a weekly Sunday meal at our house. This gives us an opportunity to catch up with our kids and now their spouses come too if they can make it. I love these Sundays evenings that are often full of laughter and good food!
This is my random advice to all of you who are strangers. Eat lots of good food with people you love.

How wonderful! Yes indeed, family gatherings are the center and celebration of life! I lost my husband in Feb 2023, almost a year now. I was negatively anticipating the holidays. So I mustered some courage and decided to have friends and family over for the traditional huge meals, which I usually cooked with my husband). It helped me to heal a bit more, as I come to the same conclusion: thank God for my family and friends! - Let's enjoy their presence, you never know if they will there at the table next year!
Lovely hearing about your celebration with family!
My advice to share with strangers? (Great question btw.)
LISTEN MORE. ASK QUESTIONS.
